The Rubber Band Theory of Leadership
In my journey as a leader, I've embraced the rubber band theory. I strive to stay ahead enough so others follow, without leaving them swinging behind. To take feedback seriously and foster a culture of growth, I inform and model the importance of feedback. For instance, I tackled my habit of interrupting by placing a candy jar and paying $10 every time I interrupted. My goal was to empty the jar, but it was a challenging, yet rewarding process of accepting and reducing interruptions.
