YC is working on building an entirely new type of computer, but it's not a team of PhD computer scientists. At the moment, I'm spending a lot of time thinking about memory and thinking about tools to augment human memory. A funny fact is that psychologists have known for more than a century how to essentially guarantee that you remember anything. Even though they understand the process, we haven't built systems to take advantage of this.
