Addressing Online Polarization and Divisiveness
There is a push to address the rewarding of extreme and polarizing behaviors online. One idea proposed is to assign a civility score to tweets, where a bipartisan committee or an open algorithm rates the civility and toxicity. Those with high levels of incivility or toxicity could be denied the opportunity to gain power or leadership roles within Congress.
