Talking to God | Prayer E1
John Mark Comer Teachings
Our Father In Heaven
God's presence is as close and pervasive as the air, which envelops and fills us. The term 'heaven' in scripture does not refer to a distant place but rather to the atmosphere surrounding us, emphasizing God's proximity. This understanding suggests that when praying, one engages with a God who is intimately near, more so than our own selves, rather than a distant entity. Many people experience a heightened sense of divine presence in nature, away from man-made distractions, highlighting that God's nearness is more easily recognized in natural settings. This illustrates that God exists in the immediate environment, contrasting with our often chaotic daily lives.
