Manhattan Land is worth a Gogillion dollars instead of a few dollars
The way that a unimproved land becomes valuable, is basically by virtue of the network effect of people on it and near it. If manhattan island was empty, and i owned a piece of land on manhattan island, it would be worth weigh less than a than it's worth now. The reason for that is not that there's anything, not that it's more arable, or that the, you know, river is, whatever. It's a, the reason, it's the reason manhattan land is worth a gogillion dollars instead of a few dollars.
