Outdated Assumptions Breed Injustice

Assumptions about the capabilities and experiences of young Black people, particularly the notion that they lack access to technology or role models, are not only incorrect but also harmful. These outdated stereotypes ignore the current realities, such as the prevalence of technology possession among youth. The persistence of such misconceptions, particularly from those in influential positions, reveals the dangers of ignorance and weak viewpoints that can perpetuate systemic racism. The dialogue highlights that those who fail to acknowledge progress can become more dangerous than outright oppressive regimes, as they may seek to suppress advancement out of a misguided fear or misunderstanding.
