Preparing against different types of players in chess requires attention to detail, but it's not always possible to micro target. The key is getting the opening, moves, and concepts right. Choosing an opening that favors you intuitively and understanding your opponent's discomfort can be helpful. However, once the game progresses, it becomes more about long variations and less about specific insights. During a match, players can be surprisingly distracted, thinking about unrelated things.
