NOTE

Granny Tuggle's Influence on A.G

The establishment of the Tuggle Institute by Granny Tuggle in Birmingham laid the foundation for the first orphanage focusing on rehabilitating abandoned and truant children. Due to the limited options for educating black children, parents often struggled to secure a spot for their kids at Granny Tuggle's institute. A.G. was placed under Granny Tuggle's care, where he was greatly influenced by Booker T. Washington, whose ideas and autobiography became the basis for A.G.'s life philosophy. A.G. established several companies named after Booker T. Washington as a tribute to the impactful role played by Granny Tuggle and Booker T. Washington in his life.
