#111 John Burke - What Happens When We Die?

Shawn Ryan Show

NOTE

The Nature of Good and Evil and the Purpose of Suffering

The presence of a body enables individuals to deeply feel and experience both good and evil. Evil manifests when it exploits human actions, but the constraint of God's spirit and law prevent it from full devolvement. Suffering is perceived as God's merciful warning, allowing a glimpse of the extremes of good and evil. This earthly life is viewed as a test to choose between good and evil, ultimately emphasizing the goodness of God's will and the forgiveness offered through Jesus. The separation from God is seen as self-imposed, as illustrated by CS Lewis' analogy of the gates of hell being locked from within.
