How AI Makes Connections and Mimics Relationships in Data
The process of compressing and decompressing data is similar to what AI models do. AI models make connections between different groups of words and letters and determine the probability of their relationship. They store the most common patterns and can even create relationships that don't actually exist in the trained data. While AI cannot extract specific data it was trained on, it can mimic the relationships within massive datasets. For example, an image diffuser can understand that if there's a black pixel in one area, there's likely a white or orange pixel in another area, based on previous images described with the word 'cat'. Through this process of analyzing relationships, AI can generate an image of a cat from a given prompt.
