Understanding the Five Facets of Supreme Being in Vedic Worldview
In the Vedic worldview, the five facets of supreme being are represented by the elements - earth, water, fire, air, and space, each associated with a Buddha. These elements vary in grossness, with space being the subtlest. Depending on the combination of these elements in us at any given moment, we experience the supreme value of personified consciousness, which can be perceived as God. Shiva, along with four other deities, represents these facets of supreme being. The experience of supreme being is subjective and based on one's consciousness state and elemental composition. Shiva can be experienced in various forms, either as a being with human-like features or in his primordial form - the cylindrical construct symbolizing the enwrapment of mother divine. Every being or form is viewed as a variation of mother divine's unwrapping in the Vedic worldview.
