Stripe’s Internal AI Accelerator Program
Stripe has implemented an Internal AI Accelerator Program to facilitate the distribution of new AI capabilities across the company. The program consists of ring-fencing one to two pizza teams to work on new AI initiatives such as the LMM explorer. This experimental program, spearheaded by David Singleton or the CTO's office, provides funding for one pizza teams for six months to work on specific charters and milestones with room for learning and iteration. The output of this program includes infrastructure like the LMM explorer. Other accelerators focus on practical applications like enhancing support experiences through internal solutions instead of third-party ones. Moreover, these accelerator programs are not just about staffing teams but also serve as opportunities for internal talent growth and development, as most participants have been at Stripe for many years and see this as a rotational development opportunity.
