A study revealed that a small group of 2,100 individuals, mainly older white Republican women, spread 80% of fake news on Twitter during a recent election. These individuals mindlessly share misinformation, influenced by watching deceptive content on TV and believing it unquestioningly. The study further highlighted that relying on sources like Fox News for information could result in being less informed than being uninformed.
