Affective states can influence decision making by affecting the belief at a higher level which, in turn, impacts the decision-making process. Negative affective states are associated with a lack of confidence in a model, leading to increased information seeking and learning rate rather than just making decision-making noisier. In such cases, individuals tend to update their beliefs faster in response to experience due to a lack of trust in their model.
