Is Competition Good for the World?
Prizes like Nobel Prizes can be corrupting and may make scientists less productive. However, competition can be constructive or destructive, depending on the legal framework in place. While competition within nature can lead to conflict, a strong legal framework with clear property rights can make competition work well. Military competition may also have some benefits but is not inherently good.
