Justice Should Not Be Selective

Justice must be applied evenly without partisan bias. Historical objections from Democrats to Republican election outcomes have not led to criminal charges, highlighting a disparity in accountability. January 6 was characterized as a lawful protest that escalated, although the labeling of it as an insurrection is unfounded and unsupported by evidence. The First Amendment rights of peaceful protesters must be recognized, while those engaging in violence or trespassing should face appropriate penalties. If accountability is not consistent across the political spectrum, particularly when comparing right-wing and left-wing protests, the integrity of justice is called into question.
