When authority is centralized, the focus shifts towards enhancing the collective benefit, as seen in the example of Louis XIV, who had a unified incentive to strengthen France. In contrast, with fractured power, individuals may gain by undermining the system or the country, resulting in distorted motivations that prioritize personal gain over collective welfare.
