Our brains are meaning-making machines, allowing us to create and destroy meaning as we see fit. Having lowercase meaning means we can ascribe meaning to activities that interest or energize us. The downside is not having pre-determined rules like religion, which makes decision-making more difficult. However, it is ultimately more rewarding to independently come up with our own conclusions. Beliefs are just assumptions, and by calling them assumptions, they become less tied to our identity and more flexible. This ultimately serves more people better in the long run.
“I think a lot of people spend a lot of time and effort trying to figure out how they feel.” Today, Alex (@AlexHormozi) discusses his perspective on the importance of creating one's own meaning in life, the power of accepting and experiencing all emotions, and the concept of redefining terms and beliefs to achieve mental wellness.
