Plank vs R1CS - What's the Difference?
The main difference, i think, between plank and onces is that plank arm gives more flexibility in the polynomial constraints that it's enforcing. For a oncas, you're just enforcing a set of quadratic constraints. So for plank, you can specify these things called custom gates. They can equate almost an arbitrary polynomic with some limitation on the degree bound for efficiency to zero.
