Aristotle articulates the analogy of being in the division of being by act and potency./nIn book nine, chapter six of the metaphysics, he quotes, "our meaning can be seen in the particular cases by induction."./nHe says that we must not seek a definition of everything, but be content to grasp the analogy that is that which is building is to that which is capable of building./nHe says that actuality is defined by one member of this antithesis and potential by the other.
