NOTE

Breathe Slowly for Optimal Oxygenation

Breathing too much through your mouth can lead to a decrease in carbon dioxide and blood vessel constriction, inhibiting your body's ability to use oxygen. While many believe that increased breathing equals more oxygen, the opposite is true. Optimal oxygenation is achieved by breathing slowly through your nose to maintain a balance of carbon dioxide. Hyperventilating can block blood flow to the brain, causing a feeling of high, but it's vital to follow it with a breath hold to allow CO2 levels to increase and oxygen to saturate cells. Ancient practices like the Wim Hof method use hyperventilation and breath hold techniques to achieve full oxygenation, as supported by scientific evidence.
