Cells have clocks đź§
Every cell in the body operates on a 24-hour clock which starts from zero and repeats. Each cell possesses its own clock, but they synchronize through signals from the hypothalamus triggered by exposure to light. Without this synchronization, the body's clocks can fall out of sync, leading to issues like jet lag. Exposure to bright light, whether natural or artificial, helps reset these internal clocks by activating neurons in the eye that communicate with the brain. Sunlight plays a crucial role in regulating these internal clocks.
