Feeling like you're going to run out of money can be a good motivator. After quitting his job in New York, the speaker found himself in a tight spot financially. To make ends meet, he got aggressive, reaching out to everyone he knew and taking on odd jobs. One of his first gigs involved walking around New York City to find people wearing a specific brand of shoes. He even held up a sign in Union Square Park to find participants for a survey. Although uncomfortable, this experience taught him the value of pushing himself and finding creative ways to make money.
