The Denial and Externalization of Responsibility
Individuals coming out of prison often exhibit elements of schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, although the diagnoses are not always confirmed. This behavior is partly due to a tendency to mimic such conditions for obtaining medication or other motivations while incarcerated. Some individuals with antisocial personality disorder believe in the concept of 'the entity,' where they feel another force operates within them, leading to externalization of blame and denial of responsibility, known as 'minimize blame and deny.' This denial is a common feature, not attributed to psychosis but rather a defense mechanism against taking responsibility.
