A Vegan Friendly Thanksgiving or Christmas Celebration Pt 1: Kitchen Hacks and Tricks for Making Traditional Holiday Favorites Vegan
It’s that time of year folks! Today I’m starting what will be a series of episodes on spending Thanksgiving, Christmas or any Holiday you partake in where lots of food is served and lots of family is gathering. It’s a common time for questions to come up among new vegans (even seasoned vegans), and since it’s an emotionally charged time for most (as in the Holiday Season makes you hyperventilate with all the excitement if you’re someone like me), all the tips shared will be helpful for many other occasions as well. In part 1 today, we’ll be covering the culinary and food aspects with tons of tips for delicious holiday cooking, and in our next episode, some of the deeper, more internal issues that can come up during the Holiday season. My goal is that if you love the holiday season you can engage in all the traditions that make your loved ones a clan, that you can enjoy all your favorite foods in their vegan versions and have a Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah or any other celebration into a delicious and relaxing, family filled occasion.
I'll cover culinary hacks, how to add a Holiday vibe to anything you're making this time of year, share some delicious vegan Thanksgiving and Christmas recipes and more.

How to Get Started with a Plant-Based or Vegan Diet
In today’s post and episode I’ll be sharing some beginner tips, suggestions and practices that can be helpful when you’re first getting started on this journey to eating more plants, to going vegan, to making as many plant-based choices and animal friendly choices as you can.
It’s important to remember that veganism, or the choice to go vegan extends well beyond the plate. If you’ve listened to our previous episodes you know that I always bring it back to the animals, because it was my own motivation for making this change, and so for me, going vegan encompassed so much more than just switching ingredients, it was about seeing all my consumer habits and a way of seeing all my actions through the filter of wanting to help animals in the best way I could. The food however, was and I believe still is the main focus point and sticking point for most people, since it’s not only a part of our day, but also the place where our Venn diagram will collide most often with that of our loved ones. It’s the activity most of us share most often with the people around us, and it’s also where we have to make the most purchasing decisions.
Although veganism isn’t only about the food, when people I know in real life, or our students ask us for support, it’s always in relation to the food and experiences with others where food is present. It's on tips around food and eating where I'll be focusing on today, as well as an important one on surrounding yourself with support, and one where we'll be fine tuning our reason why we're making this change and why it's crucial for success.

Frequently Asked Questions about Veganism and Vegan Diets, Part 2
Today's podcast episode is part 2 of our series on some of the most common questions vegans get asked, and some of the most common questions vegans have when they first make this change. In this installment I’ll be answering the questions “can anyone be vegan (is it safe for athletes, pregnancy, and raising infants and kids)?”, “is a vegan diet possible for people who have struggled with an eating disorder or are in recovery?” “Is a vegan diet safe if I have an underlying medical condition?”, “isn’t it okay to source your meat, dairy and eggs from cage free, free range facilities or more sustainable farms?”, “isn’t it true that animals still die in the growing and production of plant based products or agricultural production?”, “is a vegan diet more expensive?” “do I need special ingredients or equipment to eat a vegan diet?”, and “aren’t we supposed to eat meat? We’ve been doing it for centuries!”

Emotional Changes you Might Experience when Switching to a Vegan Diet

There are so many resources when it comes to our health and some of those physical changes one might go through, we hear endless talks about improvements in bloodwork, changes in digestive health, among others, but going vegan is a big shift when it comes to your eating habits, especially when it revolves around the relationships that fill your life, as well as making sure the new diet is satisfying, fulfilling and enjoyable for you.
Today we’re going to tackle those emotional aspects of making this change, and with each one I’ll share my top tips to help you navigate anything that needs a little course correction.

Side Effects or Physical Changes you May Experience when Switching to a Vegan or Plant Based Diet
When we talk about the basics regarding vegan diets and making the transition, it's important to talk about those first few days, weeks and months into going vegan. I know that I personally had so many questions regarding some of the physical symptoms I was experiencing when I went vegan, and this is completely understandable, as with any dietary change, we are bound to experience differences in the way we feel especially those first few weeks as a vegan.
Today I’ll be talking about the side effects we can experience when we first adopt a vegan diet.
By side effects I'm simply referring to those physical symptoms we might experience as part of the transition to a plant based diet. Feelings in our bodies and minds that will soon find their perfect peaceful place of equilibrium once we understand what could be behind them and what we can adjust until we feel comfortable. Making more vegan choices or going vegan is also all about the formation of so many new habits, often a huge change from the way we’ve eaten before, or the way our family members or friends eat. This means it can come with challenges as we get acquainted, which is why the mindset we have while making this change is so important, and I’ll share some thoughts in this regard as well, towards the end of episode.

Have you ever wondered what it means to be a vegan, a vegetarian, a flexitarian or a pescatarian? What about the difference between a vegan diet, a plant based diet or a plant forward diet? Welcome to our latest podcast episode where we explore the world of all the diets that are trying to reduce or eliminate animal products. Today we'll dive deep into each of them and explain their differences, similarities, and why imperfection is part of the process of making more plant based choices or going vegan. We'll also be taking a closer look at the full definition of veganism, and I give you my perspective on how we need to reframe the way we judge ourselves when making a choice that wasn't "perfect", and why there are more and more of these labels than ever before, when it comes to eating in this way. Whether you're curious about these diets and ways of eating or just looking to learn more, this episode is the perfect place to start. Join us as we discuss veganism from a different perspective, and I give you an important question to ask yourself when incorporating more plants into your diet, so that the changes last and are sustainable.
