Setting Bible Study Goals

Personal goals related to Bible intake: is it necessary to have a structured plan? Is that being legalistic? What if life is too busy for inductive studies? What if you’ve tried a reading plan in the past and always get off track? Should you try again? It is possible to have specific Bible study goals that you can implement, whatever your life season. The Word is nourishment to our souls, and the ultimate aim of Bible study is to know God and be transformed into His likeness.    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? O Come, O Come Emmanuel with Caroline Cobb

“O Come, O Come Emmanuel”. You know the hymn and the melody. But did you know that each verse is paired with a different Messianic name? The hymn also upholds a dual purpose. On one hand, it reminds us of Israel’s longing for the Messiah and Christ’s first coming. On the other, it turns believers’ hearts today for Christ’s second coming when He will consummate God’s Kingdom and dwell with His people forever! Caroline Cobb graciously leads our discussion and shares her personal rendition of the song in the episode!    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? Being Content with What You Have

Advertisements, gift guides, and “must-haves”. We can find ourselves feeling discontent with what we own. How can we find contentment in the midst of a culture that continually promotes more? This is a relevant issue any time of the year, but it’s heightened around the holiday season. Is it possible to enjoy our material possessions without idolizing them? How can we enjoy the good gifts the Lord provides without getting distracted from the things that matter for eternity? Should our contentment be found in “stuff” at all? We find these hard questions sufficiently answered in God’s Word.    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? Making Meaningful Advent Traditions

What exactly is Advent? Is it commanded in Scripture? Why and how should we observe it? Advent is a season marked on the church calendar, and it begins on December 1st this year. During Advent, believers intentionally remember the longing that God’s people felt awaiting the Messiah. It is also a time to recognize the truth that we are currently in a season of waiting for Christ’s return. We discuss the benefits of observing Advent and share the many ways your family can make meaningful Advent traditions this season.     Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? The holidays can be times of extra pain and friction for many people. There are a number of reasons: the loss of a loved one, broken relationships, financial hardships, unmet expectations, and more. In the midst of celebrations and busyness, the holidays can be incredibly lonely times when we feel the brokenness of this world more acutely. Cultivating a Heart of Gratitude

Thanksgiving: the season of gratitude. But shouldn’t God’s people be grateful in every season? Is it really possible to “give thanks in all circumstances”? What about the hard seasons in life? Is it possible to be grateful and worship God in the midst of deep suffering and tragedy? How do we not grumble with the little annoyances of life? The gospel is the starting point of gratitude. The gospel combats the sense of entitlement that marks human nature, and it is how we cultivate a heart of gratitude that leads to praise in every season!    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? What’s With All the Rules in the Bible?

Do you think Christianity has too many rules to follow? Does the Bible seem like a book full of restrictive commands to you? Is it just moralism? No one can live up to them, so why try at all? Isn’t the Bible outdated anyway? These are objections we have heard or thought. The Bible does have commands! And the gospel is about grace! The law actually offers hope and joy. It is a gracious gift from God, and while Christ frees us from guilt and shame, He also empowers us to obey and put His holiness on display to a world in need.    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions? What to do with Bad Days

Bad days. We’ve all had them. Or maybe it’s a hard season, and we’re not sure when (if ever) things will let up. How do we deal with less than ideal circumstances? We don’t want to escape and pretend they’re not there (because they are!). We know that retail therapy and treating yourself are temporary coping mechanisms. Should we put a smile on our face, pull up our bootstraps, and power through? What does the Bible say?    Scripture teaches us how to respond to the brokenness around us. The Lord equips us to faithfully live in the midst of hard days and/or hard seasons. He gives us the gift of lamenting -- we can go to God in our pain and ask the hard questions: God, are you angry with me? Are Your promises really sure? Has Your love run out? Have you forgotten me? But in our lamenting, we remember the Lord -- His character and what He has done. We rehearse the truths found in Scripture; we preach the gospel to ourselves. We trust that He is working all things for His glory and our good. We can ask, “How is this bad day an opportunity for me to grow in godliness?” It’s not easy, but we’re not alone. He is with us through the good times and bad!    Resources mentioned in this episode:  Advent (His + Her Study) by The Daily Grace Co.  Family Advent Devotional by The Daily Grace Co.  Advent Coloring Book by The Daily Grace Co.  Ep. 7 Preaching the Gospel to Yourself by Daily Grace  Ep. 24 Being Content When Life Is Disappointment by Daily Grace  Ep. 34 Growing in Godliness in Everyday Life with Ruth Chou Simons by Daily Grace    Scripture mentioned in this episode:  Psalm 121:3  Romans 8  1 Peter 1  2 Corinthians 4  Psalm 66:10  Job 5:18  1 Thessalonians 4:13  2 Corinthians 4:18  Psalm 13  Hebrews 4:15  2 Corinthians 12:9  Psalm 77  John 14:26  Lamentations 3:22-23  1 Peter 4:12    Connect with us:  Subscribe to Daily Grace: on iOS, go to our iTunes page and click subscribe.  On Android, click this podcast RSS feed link and choose your podcast app.  If needed, you can copy this link directly into your favorite podcast app (like Stitcher or Overcast).  Or follow us on Spotify!     We would love if you took a few minutes to leave us an iTunes review to help spread the word about Daily Grace!  We want to invite more women into our conversations!    Download The Daily Grace app: for iOS, click here to download.  On Android, click here to download.  Visit The Daily Grace Co. for beautiful products for the whole family that will equip you on your journey to knowing and loving God more.   Subscribe to The Daily Grace Newsletter and receive free Bible study resources in your inbox.   Like The Daily Grace Co. on Facebook.  Follow on Instagram for the latest updates on the podcast and The Daily Grace Co.   Engage with our Facebook community, “Lamp and Light”.   Read The Daily Grace blog for encouragement throughout the week that is steeped in biblical truths.    * Affiliate links used are used where appropriate.  Thank you for supporting the products that support the production of this podcast! *

Setting Goals that Matter with Lara Casey

Should Christians set goals? Aren’t goals self-centered? Doesn’t the Bible talk about not knowing what tomorrow brings? Should we be so future-oriented? Lara has redefined goals. Goals can be God-centered and informed by the gospel. Goals can help us keep the big picture of eternity in mind. Goals can help us number our days and live intentionally today. But how do we stay motivated and persevere? How do we make what really matters actually happen?     Check out Powersheets (an intentional goal planner): click here. A Woman’s Highest Calling

Is motherhood a woman’s highest calling? Is it marriage? Or does it depend on our gifts, interests, and circumstances? Purpose is an important topic. We want to know our God-given purpose because it impacts how we live in the here and now, and today matters for eternity. But here’s the truth we see in Scripture: we all have the same highest calling. We are all called to glorify God. But what does this look like? How does motherhood, marriage, singleness, careers, and other life circumstances fall under this same God-glorifying purpose?    Connect with us:  www.dailygracepodcast.com  www.thedailygraceco.com  https://www.facebook.com/thedailygraceco/  https://www.instagram.com/thedailygraceco/    Questions?
