RHP#084. Dr John Demartini, Human Behaviour Specialist, Researcher, Educator, Author, Founder of Demartini Institute

Human Behaviour Specialist. Researcher. Educator. Author. Personal Development Expert. Founder of Demartini Institute. Surfer. Yogi. Master Sage. Bookworm of 32,000 Read Books. Life is and always has been about making the most of every opportunity that you have. However, the choice is yours with how you decide to use those opportunities. Only you, can decide with how to react and respond in those tough and challenging moments. It’s how you choose to respond which ultimately moulds and grows you as a person. Our guest this week, Dr John Demartini, is no stranger to dealing with tough times and taking responsibility for all his choices and actions. He is certainly someone who is making the absolute most of every opportunity on this planet and living a life that is in accordance with his values and intentions. Dr Demartini was born in Houston, Texas. From an early age, he wore hand and leg braces to correct a birth defect. A teacher made him sit with a cone-shaped ‘dunce’ hat on his head in class and told his parents that he would amount to nothing. However, once he had his leg braces removed he could run like the wind and was also a very handy baseball player. At the age of 13, he left home and school and started living on the streets. At 15, he moved to Hawaii and stayed there for 3 years surfing. A near-death experience, as a result of strychnine poisoning, would be the beginning of a huge turning point in his life. After hearing an inspiring talk, John thought that maybe he could overcome his learning problems and maybe he could learn to read and become intelligent. That night he made a decision, he saw a vision of what he wanted to do and that vision is painted in his office today. When he was 18 he returned home. He got out a dictionary and started at the very beginning of it, by memorising 30 words a day. For the next couple of years, he basically memorised most of that dictionary, his vocabulary grew, he started passing school and then he started excelling and even started reading encyclopedias. He read eight complete sets of encyclopedias and everything else he could get his hands on. Dr John Demartini, graduated with honours and received his Doctorate in 1982, and came top of his class with Magna Cum Laude. In 1982, he also founded the Demartini Institute. He lives on a ship called, The World, and when he is not there, he is in a hotel room sleeping, or teaching others. His Breakthrough Experience, is a world-renowned program that he’s been teaching for over 30 years now. It helps people break through whatever is in their way, and to turn it on the way. To transform any emotions they may have that is baggage and turn it into fuel, to be able to get clear about what their mission is, and what their highest value is. Dr John Demartini, is a next level fascinating, wise and inspiring man. In this Podcast, we got to learn so much about him, his philosophies and the impact he is making on this world. We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did. Let’s find out what it means for Dr John Demartini, to be Ridiculously Human. RHP#083. Bud Jeffries, Strongman, Minister, Motivational Speaker, Strength Coach, 1,000lbs Squatter, Co-Founder of An Unconventional Life

Strongman. Minister. Author. Motivational Speaker. Massage Therapist. Strength Coach. 1,000lbs Squatter. Coin Bender. Life Enthusiast. Founder of An Unconventional Life. Fortunately, for every bully in the world, there is the opposite too, a hero. Someone who is prepared to save the day and stand up for what is morally and ethically right. To have the backs of the people who are too timid to fight back and stand up for themselves. Our guest this week, Bud Jeffries, is a man who refuses to let any excuses or setbacks get in the way of his life from being a success. Bud is also someone who is prepared to stand up for what is right in life and to challenge people who are intimidating others. Bud grew up in Lakeland, Florida. He still resides on the same farm that has been in his family for over 150 years. He enjoyed a rugged outdoors upbringing that all boys should have in their developmental years. When he was five years old, he was involved in a horrific car accident. He ran in front of a van and should never have survived. It crushed his hip and fractured his skull and put him in a full body cast for over five months. When he eventually had his cast removed, he was a bit of a fat kid. Up until 13 years old he was bullied, but when he began playing football, it gave him a sense of power and helped him to learn how to protect himself. Being subjected to bullying gave him a lot of empathy toward people that suffer or have suffered bullying. It was when he ventured into Strongman competitions that his true calling was found. He actually made his living as an old style strong man by performing to crowds. Among his many accomplishments and awards, he holds the coveted trophy of squatting 1,000lbs, can tear a pack of cards in quarters while wearing oven gloves, bend a coin, juggle a burning kettlebell while doing the splits and many other superhuman feats! Bud suffered the worst tragedy any parent could in their life. His son, Noah, was tragically killed at the age of 21 in a bike accident. Bud explains that it is a perspective change beyond comprehension. You really find out what matters and what doesn't. What matters, is the people you care about and what you do about them. Everything else means nothing compared to what you do for the people you love. At least four people are alive today because of Noah’s decision to be an organ donor at 16. Bud has subsequently met the man who has his heart and who has had a chance to see his 7th grandson born! Sheriff Grady Judd, swore Noah in posthumously as a Polk County Deputy! The real impact and powerful part of Bud, is not only his story, but the way he sees the world and the message of positivity and hope which he continues to spread. You will be enthralled by this man’s enthusiasm for the world and the value he provides.  We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did. RHP#082. Bruce Lipton, Stem Cell Researcher, Developmental Biologist, Epigenetic Expert, Author, Keynote Speaker, Spiritual Scientist

Stem Cell Researcher. Developmental Biologist. Epigenetic Expert. Scientist. Keynote Speaker. Spiritual Scientist. Believer. Author of The Biology of Belief. There is so much in life which we are yet to discover, but thanks to technology, we are learning an extraordinary amount of new things and are privy to new science and research, each and every day, which is changing our lives and our view of the world. One of the really important and interesting discoveries, is that we now have the science to validate the traditional ways of how we have used things like meditation and beliefs systems to help with our overall wellbeing. Our guest this week, Bruce Lipton, is a man who knows this all too well, and has spent much of his life and career researching and connecting science with the spiritual world. Bruce was born in Mount Kisco, New York, into a family of Russian heritage. Like many of us, Bruce had family issues to deal with as a youngster. These were not his own issues, but his parents, and they would impact and programme him to be a certain way and have certain beliefs throughout his life. Deviating from our normal storytelling Podcast, we used Bruce’s precious time to explore his vast wisdom and knowledge, to help understand what drives human behaviour and how we can better align ourselves with a life of greater meaning and purpose. As a parent or adult it’s extremely important to understand the influence you have on the programming of children during the formative years of their lives. It’s also important as adults to go back and explore your own childhood. It will help you see and remember things which occurred to you, that ultimately forged many of your belief systems today. Each of us has two minds, the conscious and subconscious mind. We switch between the two without even knowing about it and use them both interactively on a daily basis. Our subconscious is on autopilot, where we use the programs that were installed into us by the people around us. 95% of the day we are not acting consciously and in autopilot mode, so the subconscious mind plays an extremely important role in our lives. The conscious mind, on the other hand, is the great creative mind that is thinking about things like our health, happiness, relationships, dreams and desires. If we want to change the ‘program’ in our mind, then we need to re-educate and teach the subconscious mind, using techniques such as repetition, energy psychology and super learning. Once we learn the thing that we want to change, the process can be short. Also, once we learn to re-programme, it creates the freedom of being able to edit and add systems into our subconscious. Bruce is well known for his research into Epigenetics, which is the study of cellular and physiological traits, or the external and environmental factors, that turn our genes on and off, and in turn, define how our cells actually read those genes. It works to see the true potential of the human mind, and the cells in our body. As Bruce states, Epigenetics has the potential to change your life by making you happier and healthier, with a greater sense of spiritual well-being We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did. Let’s find out what it means for Bruce Lipton, to be Ridiculously Human. RHP#081. Gareth Martin, Transformation Coach, Bodybuilder, Yogi, ex-Investment Banker, Natural Chef, Meditation Teacher, Smiler, Podcast Host

Transformation Coach. Bodybuilder. Yogi. Ex-Investment Banker. Natural Chef. Meditation Teacher. Smiler. Traveller. Lover Of Challenges. Networker. Organisation Guru. Podcast Host. We are living in an era of huge abundance and where everything is available at the push of a button. It’s an exciting time where we have the capability to try new things for cheaper and easier than ever before! The barriers to entry are almost non-existent which makes everything a possibility. Our guest this week, Gareth Martin, knows all too well about trying many things in life. He believes that there is a certain importance around experiencing new things, to help grow you as a person and find out who you are and what you want in life. Gareth was born and grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was never one to shy away from getting involved in team-sports and thrived in the competition and camaraderie, but he also found a lot of peace and solitude in individual sports, namely swimming. His folks got divorced when he was nine years old, and like with many break-ups, it was pretty messy. It ended up creating a lot of confusion and sadness in his life when he was a teenager. He couldn’t quite understand the anger he saw between his parents, because Gareth was always a bit of a soft, compassionate kid at heart. When he was sixteen, his life would take a shocking turn when he was involved in a life-threatening head-on collision while riding his motorbike. Gareth looks back on this event with good fortune because he believes that it gave him a different perspective on life which he would not have otherwise had. He knows it’s important to make the most of every opportunity because you do never know when your time might be up. After deciding to overstay his first gap year in London, it was time to get serious and find a real job. So he went to a job fair and managed to get himself a role doing the filing at an Investment Bank. Little did he know, that it would be a career which would span almost 20 years. These days, Gareth works as a Transformational Coach, he is also the co-host of our Podcast. It took him a couple of years of transformation and upskilling to get him here though. After banking, he spent 3 months in India learning to become a Yoga and Meditation Teacher. He then spent a year studying to be a chef. He also completed a few other life-changing courses, one of which included getting certified as an Executive Coach. This is a great story of not letting anyone else’s thoughts stop you from doing what you want in life. Embrace each opportunity which comes it’s way and make the most of every interaction you have. Make the most of your relationships and friendships and treat every moment as a learning opportunity. We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did. RHP#080. Craig Haywood, Chiropractor, Science Enthusiast, Networking Machine, Smiler, Host of The Ridiculously Human Podcast

Doctor of Chiropractic. Science Enthusiast. Networking Machine. Smiler. Deep Thinker. Rock Solid Buddy. Truth Seeker. Pragmatist. Host of The Ridiculously Human Podcast One thing our Podcast has taught us, is that we don’t necessarily know people half as well as we should know them. Especially, those who are close to us. We can guarantee that there are so many things you will not know about your parents, siblings and best friends. Things which will help you understand them better and you’ll likely form closer relationships and bonds with them as a result. Our guest this week is Craig Haywood. Well, you say ‘guest’ but it’s actually the better-looking half of the Podcast hosting team! Craig was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, known as the friendly and windy city! He struggled a bit as a youngster with self-esteem issues. At times, he sometimes felt disconnected with his parents, he blamed himself for their fighting and would use food as a coping mechanism, and ate a lot!! Hid Grandad, played a big influence in his life and ‘their thing’ was to go fishing together. Besides being a great storyteller, his Grandad would also teach all the grandkids how to drive from a very young age, as well as, how to do the Waltz! When Craig was 17 years old, something would happen that would take him on a new life trajectory. Their little family sausage dog, Jackie, was in extreme pain and had lost the use of her back legs. The vet could not help Jackie, so he sent them to see a Chiropractor. The Chiropractor, adjusted her spine and the lame legs she went in on, she managed to walk out on….!! A year later, he was living in his sister's garage in Johannesburg, to begin his studies to become a Chiropractor. Craig suffered a severe setback when he was diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune condition. It started with inflammation in his eye, and his pupils would not dilate. He then experienced inflammation in his knees and hips, which really impacted his mobility, and being a Chiropractor, that was a rather scary prospect. Through hours of learning and searching and implementing changes in his diet and mindset, he has never been healthier and has no signs of ever having anything. Once qualified, a rather serendipitous scenario led him to accept a job in the Netherlands. It was a bit of a shock moving to somewhere he had never been, had no friends, didn’t understand the culture and never spoke the language either!! Talk about throwing yourself in the deep end. Craig is a master of many things, two which stand out are, excelling in his profession as a Chiropractor and his likeability factor. He makes a huge effort to network and make others feel comfortable. He likes adventure and to take calculated risks, and now resides with his wife, Chantelle, in Australia. He gets to see his brother often, lives near the beach, enjoys the great weather, has a thriving practise and Chantelle has a highly successful business too! Craig now feels he has a greater sense of self-awareness and realises his purpose in life! We hope you enjoy this conversation as much as we did. Safwan sold his software business in 2008 and never had to work a day again in his life… But playing golf all day, made him feel like he lacked meaning and purpose in his life. Then, one day, after sitting in a cafeteria and seeing people ‘not paying’ on their way out and learning that the costs of their food or coffee were deducted from their pay, spawned an idea that led to PayActiv.
