Joe Rodgers’d Donald Trump pardoning a Las Vegas city councilwoman who misused city funds. -GRAB BAGS *Joe brought up the passing of Pope Francis and his legacy *Bill shouted out to Green Bay and the Packers doing a great job on the first day of the draft *Steve echoed his thoughts. Kristin asked Steve about what he saw going down in Green Bay during the draft festivities the previous night. This just in, former U.S. Representative from New York George Santos was sentenced to 87 months in prison. Steve and Kristin discussed this and how local journalism played a role in his election and his many controversies. They next talked about Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' latest initiative to get teenagers to work in his state. Steve and Kristin discussed the U.S. Supreme Court taking up a case from Maryland that could let families opt their children out of reading LGBTQ books. Meanwhile, the Navy canceled a speaking appearance from podcaster Ryan Holiday where he planned on talking about banned books, including those banned by the military; Steve and Kristin discussed this as well. Democratic Party Vice Chair David Hogg raised money for a fund to primary other older Democrats; a clip of his thoughts was played. -They continued the conversation and debated Hogg’s methods and how old is too old for politicians. -They then discussed what exactly the future of the Democratic party could look like. A strategy to help get Democrats back in the spotlight was entering decentralized media landscape like podcasts. That was exactly what Pete Buttigieg did. A clip was played about what he thought the Democratic party should be standing for. Steve and Kristin debated if what he said was too idealistic. -The importance of Buttigieg’s appearance was found in how U.S. President Donald Trump overwhelmingly won the vote of young men. Steve and Kristin briefly discussed. Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos drafted a budget...with no numbers. Steve ranted about it. Steve and Kristin talked about tariffs and the effect so far it and the economy has had on Americans. Some Republicans want to raise taxes on billionaires to “own the libs”. They talk about that one State Senator that did not vote for it, Chris Kapenga from Delafield. They finished the hour by talking about their podcast “You Need to Listen”. Steve and Kristin were next joined in-studio by Urban Milwaukee President Jeramey Jannene to first talk about property values rising in Milwaukee and what it could mean. -Milwaukee's latest newly inaugurated alderman Alex Brower, an open socialist, made a big stump speech after his inauguration that referenced Vladamir Lenin and Karl Marx and mentioned issues like education; Jeramey explained. -Milwaukee was going all in on drones; Jeramey told Steve and Kristin how the Milwaukee Police Department was using them and the possible implications. -The abandoned boat off of Milwaukee’s coast had some breaking news. Jeramey explained the background and Steve talked about how it expresses people’s fascination with the stupid. WTMJ News reporter Adam Roberts joined Steve and Kristin for another update about the boat and Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson’s press conference near the site and the cinematic picture taken by fellow reporter Nazir Spencer.
