Losing Yourself In Relationships
I was that gal who morphed into what my partner did, ate, who be hung out with and how he lived. All my ways of being went “bye bye” because of a belief I held true that went something like this - “If you don’t do what they want to do, they’ll break up with you. You’ll appear difficult, you’ll be a drainer and that’s not how to keep a boyfriend. So just put your shit aside Ms John!”That led me to planet LOST! and it took months (sometimes years) to retrieve my lost self and put it all back together again. Well fk that! I'd rather lose a relationship than lose myself again. However I do believe there is a sweet spot in the middle and that is that we can own who we are and share ourselves with another without getting lost. Stop Getting Caught Up In Drama
Oh it's easy isn't it, getting caught up in other people's shit storms, or, being the creator of a shit storm and wanting people on your side. I used to contribute to other people's drama by getting emotionally invested and involved, which was a complete waste of time. I added no value or real support to the person, giving away my power and encouraging them (unknowingly) to give theirs away too. These days, I have way better boundaries in place as a way to respect my energy and offer empowerment to the other person. If you create drama or get sucked into it, listen to this. Leaving Behind What You Know For What You Stand For
Cathryn Wills established Sans Beast in June 2017, after a career spanning close to30 years in the Australian fashion industry. The late 80’s saw time in retail at Benetton, followed by various roles at Palmer Corporation, before gaining a BA Fashion at Melbourne’s RMIT. A substantial chapter at Country Road then followed, where Wills worked in knitwear, eventually becoming Knitwear Design Manager across the men’s and women’s divisions.Post leaving Country Road, Wills pursued a freelance design career for a number ofyears, before finding her niche at Mimco, joining founder and former owner AmandaBriskin (-Rettig) in 2004. Wills went on to the role of Creative Director post the saleof the business, and in 2010, expanded her creative remit to encompass thecommercial leadership of the brand, as Managing + Creative Director. After living and breathing the world of leather handbags + accessories for over adecade, Wills adopted a vegetarian diet in mid 2015 - going vegan 18 months later -and progressively recognized a disconnect between her professional role and herethical stance on animal welfare and the environment. Through further education,Wills saw the need to change her consumptive and creative path, eventuallyresigning from MIMCO in early 2016.In establishing Sans Beast, Wills has dedicated herself to building a design led, quality brand, with compelling visual + written storytelling. The brand sourcesresponsibly manufactured, non-leather materials for the collection + manufactures inan ethically run, family owned factory in Southern China. Stop Wasting Time
If you spend money how you're currently spending your time, would you be broke? This is a question I've been challenging my coaching clients on recently when they tell me they haven't followed through on the work. If you're not using time to your advantage and following through on what truly matters to you, then it's no wonder you're tired, exhausted, pissed off or burnt out. Aka, you're energetically broke. I've been using a new technique recently to use my time more wisely and intentionally (my word for this year is "intentional"). Have a listen to apply this technique so you're no longer "broke". Building Authenticity
One area where you can build authenticity and the ace feelings it brings, is to match your actions to your words. You would've heard the phrase, "practice what you preach", and this is exactly what I'm talking about. Too many times you may say things about love and light, but act in ways that have zip-a-dee-doo-da with those words. You may preach about forgiveness but are being stubborn as all fk about a past situation. This is being out of alignment and chips away at being authentic. Living true to your word (and you ain't going to get it perfect every time) is one way you can begin the journey towards being authentic, or sharpen yourself up if you're already on that journey. Take A Sweet Minute To Reflect
Alrighty, it's the last episode of the year and jeepers creepers it's been a year that has tested all of us in different ways. There's been some epic lessons that have knocked on my door that I've chosen to learn from and continue to evolve this little human self of mine. I'm a firm believer of reflecting regularly and not waiting until the end of year to do a major reflect and possibly being overwhelmed with needing to make change, or being a bull at a gate and then losing momentum too quickly. Anyhoo, here's some of my lessons learned this year and how I got about reflecting as I go.I just have to say a massive thank you to ALL OF YOU for listening to my podcast and being epic humans for choosing me to serve your souls. I am so appreciative of every single on of you.Support the show

Wear The Damn Shorts
I love this human so damn much! Nicole Hahn is a fellow lululemon ambassador which is where we met just over a year ago. Uber recently she was part of a lululemon shorts campaign which brought up a lot of my bullshit stories and shame around my legs. I have always told myself, "I'm not a shorts gal", when in truth, I was too afraid to wear them for the fear of being judged. Her voice and message around this inspired me and so many women to say FK YES to wearing shorts and not giving a fk anymore about how they look!If you experience shame around your body and are in need of inspo and fresh perspective, listen up to this legend!Insta: @coachnic__Website: katjohn.com.auInsta: @kat.johnSupport the show

10 Days Of Silence
Back in 2017 I went to a Vipassana 10 day meditation course. For some months before booking myself in I was intrigued and called to partake in this experience, but my mind was afraid to do it. I doubted that I could endure not speaking, looking at anyone, writing and expressing myself. In truth, I was afraid to be with my own mind without distraction. But alas, the call to go was too strong and off I went. In today's episode I share my experience, lessons and takeaways. From Anxiety To Living In Her Purpose
This is a MUST listen to be inspired to follow your heart. Emma is a past coaching client of mine who reached out in 2019 to seek help after having an anxiety attack and feeling depressed for a short period of time. That experience rocked her and I remember our conversation on the phone when she said to me that she wanted these negative thoughts to be gone and never come back. I replied, "that ain't going to happen". I helped Em realise that it's about learning to live with negative thoughts whilst focusing on the things that truly matter to her, and as a result the anxiety should ease. She came on-board my six month coaching program to help her to focus on bringing into life what her soul desired. Ultimately, she realised she wanted to expand her focus beyond the corporate world and in her heart she wanted to write and create music. Six months went by and she created over 60+ song ideas and is now producing her very own music.Insta @kat.johnWebsite katjohn.com.auSupport the show
