Twenty two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah 07 Arcanum 7 Triumph

A free audio lecture download about the seventh arcanum of the Tarot, "Triumph," and the Hebrew letter zayin. Lecture quote: "The Arcanum Seven depicts a warrior standing in a chariot. This warrior holds in his two hands a staff or a rod and a sword. The chariot has four columns which he stands in the midst of and the chariot is drawn or led by two sphinxes, one black and one white. This Arcanum symbolizes the chariot of war, which is also represented in the famous epic story of ancient India called The Mahabharata. This is an ancient story describing a huge conflict amongst the members of a family. The most famous extract or portion of this epic story is called the Bhagavad Gita, which means “The Song of the Lord,” and is a dialogue between Krishna and Arjuna. They have this dialogue in a chariot on a battlefield at the very precipice of the greatest war the world has ever known. Of course typically, traditionally, the story is interpreted as merely a story and the symbolism is missed by the majority of the readers of the Mahabharata. The war symbolizes the struggle that the spiritual initiate has to undergo within the mind; the war amongst the psychological family, between the virtuous brothers and the greedy and proud brothers. Of course, the greedy and proud ones outnumber the virtuous ones, in us and in The Mahabharata." This article is from the free online course The Twenty-two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah. Twenty two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah 06 Arcanum 6 Indecision

A free audio lecture download about the sixth arcanum of the Tarot, "Indecision," and the Hebrew letter vav. Lecture quote: "Arcanum 6 – Indecision is related with the letter Vav, which means “and” in the Hebrew language and symbolizes connection - to hook, to unite one thing with another. It is also related with the word “yug” in Sanskrit, which means union. In order to have an union you have to hook - and of course it is related with the word religare (or religion). It is the way in which we receive knowledge. The letter Vav of this arcanum is related with the property of hearing, listening. Of course now we have to emphasize that it is not just related to the faculty of hearing on the physical plane but also with that chakra which we have mentioned several times in different lectures: the chakra Vishuddha, which is related with magical ear, the faculty of understanding, listening to or hearing the Word of God which is related with the world of Archetypes [Atziluth], symbols that we know through understanding and comprehending." Twenty two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah 05 Arcanum 5 The Hierarch

A free audio lecture download about the arcanum of the Tarot, "The Hierarch," and the Hebrew letter hei. Lecture quote: "The womb of the Divine Mother, space itself or unmanifested existence, is symbolized by the Egyptians as Nepthys. Of course, in Sanskrit we know this as Prakriti, the Divine Mother. When the Divine Mother gives birth and manifestation arises, the Egyptians called the manifested mother, "Isis". So, here we have two aspects of the Divine Mother, or two aspects of the character, "He". Between these two, there is an interface; there is Anubis. Plutarch, who was a Grecian priest at Delphi, observed in his writings that the esoteric doctrine related to Anubis described him as the balance, or the interface, between Nepthys and Isis, and he was the son of both, and in this way we can understand that Anubis here is simply a symbol, as are Nepthys and Isis, a symbol of karma, one of those three eternal factors. Within the womb of Nepthys is that seed of karmic events that must unfold, and when conditions are right, Anubis is the vehicle through which the unfolding occurs. In this way we can comprehend, based on the studies of kabbalah, that Anubis is also Christ. That light that expresses itself from the womb is Christic. It is the solar Logos, and that expression occurs because of karma." This article is from the free online course The Twenty-two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah. Twenty two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah 04 Arcanum 4 The Emperor

A free audio lecture download about the fourth arcanum of the Tarot, "The Emperor," and the Hebrew letter daleth. Lecture quote: "Arcanum number four is called The Emperor. The king, the Emperor, is related with the fourth Sephirah of the Tree of Life, which is called Chesed. When you study the Tree of Life and the relation of the Tree of Life with the planets of our solar system, then we find that Chesed is governed by Jupiter, and also by Mars. Many kabbalists state that Chesed, the Innermost, our own particular Spirit, is ruled only by Jupiter. But when we discover that our own particular Spirit has to fight for his own Self-realization and has to do the work, the internal work in the human being; then we discover that he is also a warrior, a fighter. So that's why we state in Gnosticism that Chesed is ruled by Mars. This is the particular individual Spirit of each one of us. Chesed, which is related with the Emperor, the king. That's why, astrologically speaking, we said that the kings are ruled by Jupiter. And now we are going to go very deep, following the sequence of lectures, in order to explain the biblical Adam related with this lecture. Remember that in the Book of Genesis it is written that Adam is the king of nature, an emperor. And it is very interesting to see that when we read the Bible, we read the word Adam which many translators translate as "man", but for a better explanation it is better if we translate it as "human being." Twenty two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah 03 Arcanum 3 The Empress

A free audio lecture download about the third arcanum of the Tarot, "The Empress," and the Hebrew letter gimel. Lecture quote: "The first Arcanum, related to the projective masculine force, unity, projects, but it is balanced and equilibrated by the second factor, or the second Arcanum, which is duality. So then we have these two forces in a dual relationship, but for creation to actually occur, for the world of Daath to actually blossom and manifest existence, manifest creation, there has to be a third factor. This Law of Three is that profound and deep equilibrium between forces. We have this symbolized in many of the structures of the Tree of Life. We have three columns upon which hang three triangles, and each triangle is made of three spheres. The Law of Three is the very structure of our Tree of Life, both within us and outside of us. The Law of Three becomes something very foundational for our understanding of the Kabbalah, as it does provide the very foundation of the Tree itself. More than that, the Law of Three provides a vital foundation for the work that we have to perform in order to self-realize all the Sephiroth. The self-realization of the Sephiroth means perfect comprehension of all the laws that manage the Sephiroth. So when we look at this Law of Three, we are actually looking at something that we have to embody. We have to learn how to work with the three forces of creation. In the symbolism of many religions, we have at the root of creation certain forces or factors. Water is a very common, universal symbol related to creation. We also find air, or Spirit; we also find fire. These three root elements are also symbolized in the Zohar and in the Sepher Yetzirah, which is an ancient book of Kabbalah. And these three forces, which underlie all of manifested creation, are called the Three Mother Letters. They are Aleph, Mem, and Shin." Twenty two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah 02 Arcanum 2 The Priestess

A free audio lecture download about the second arcanum of the Tarot: "The Priestess," and the Hebrew letter beth. Lecture quote: "The letter Beth is the first letter that you find in the book of Genesis. Remember that Genesis comes from "generation, generate," and "Bereshith," which is the first word of the book of Genesis in Hebrew, begins with Beth. And the World of Creation, which is the world of Briah, starts with Beth. And Binah, which is the Holy Spirit or the third sephirah, begins with Beth. This really invites us to reflect, because really, Binah is in relation with creation, Briah, with Bereshith, because it is the beginning or the way in which the universe develops. When we explain the nature of God, we always arrive at the conclusion that God has no form, but we have to study that which people call God, because remember that in Hebrew, the first word that you find in the Bible for God is Elohim. Many times, we have explained that Elohim or Eloim is a feminine word, Eloah, with a masculine plural ending (-im). So when we say, "Elohim" we are saying "Gods and Goddesses." But El itself is masculine, so when the word Elohim is written in the book of Genesis, many translators interpret that as merely "God." But the real translation should be "Gods and Goddesses," because Elohim is a plural word, which encompasses feminine and masculine together. The number one is masculine and the number two is feminine. The number two emerges from the unity, which in reality is within the unity. But the number two, the duality, is the way in which divinity multiplies or creates. It is impossible for the unity to create by itself; it does not, it unfolds into two. And That is why in many ways in Kabbalah, you find that there are different names related with different entities, different forces, that always show us the duality, or the two aspects, two polarities; masculine, feminine. And this is because in order for creation to exist we need always the two polarities. Those people that believe in God as masculine and reject the feminine aspect of it, are half-atheists, because God is male-female. So in order for us to be a complete theist we have to understand that we have to worship not only God as masculine, but the Goddess, the Divine Mother, its feminine aspect, in order to be complete. Otherwise, I repeat, we will be half-atheists, because God is male-female." This article is from the free online course The Twenty-two Arcana of Tarot and Kabbalah.
