Slipback

It's the end of September and, as promised last episode, Rob and Dave have read the Target novelisation of Eric Saward's 1985 Doctor Who radio play, Slipback.  In this episode they run through the novel, blow-by-blow, then have a discussion about it. Naturally, they also discuss the radio play too, for some handy comparison. Before then, they discuss some interesting news from the past month, some short topics and, at the end of the show, talk about some non-Doctor Who content they've consumed of late. A couple of listener emails round out the episode. Hope you enjoy the show! Contact us anytime, hello@theDWshow.net

Primary Sources – February 1986

Welcome to the 24th and, for now, FINAL episode of the podcast we’ve been dropping on the feed every month in between our regular monthly shows. In today’s podcast, Rob sits down with his Doctor Who Show co-host, Dave, to discuss the letters from both Doctor Who Magazine from February of 1986 and some classic issues of the Sonic Screwdriver fanzine from the Doctor Who Club of Victoria. Yes folks, this is a double episode to end the run on (for now). This is Doctor Who without a safety net. The conversations could go anywhere the guest wants them to go. This is Primary Sources!

Dennis Spooner

While Dave is jet-setting around Europe, Rob welcomes Dylan Rees (DOCTOR WHO: TOO HOT FOR TV) back to the podcast. Dylan has brought today's main topic: 1960s Doctor Who writer, and sometime script editor, Dennis Spooner. The guys keep the discussion light, so anyone can tune in and learn a little about Dennis and his stories without feeling overwhelmed by someone they perhaps aren't familiar with, writing black and white television almost 60 years ago. Before then, the guys discuss some news from the past month, some short topics, and some great listener feedback. We really do have the best listeners, folks. Hope you enjoy the episode!
