Gamestop, AMC and Blackberry are up and back. Market update 3-23-22
I start out the podcast with Star Bulk Carriers ($SBLK) as a buy in the algo. Also $GOGL is a buy.
$MRNA is back with a study that shows promise with kids and they will apply for an FDA emergency approval. It's overbought so no reason to chase it now.
Huge options buys on $AMD at $150, $MSFT at $320 and $FB at $220 so the rally should keep going on these.
Cramer on CNBC went over $WEAT and $CORN futures and why Carley Garner (a commodities expert) sees these flying.
$NIO - this is a buy around $20. It def has some fundamental reasons, plus China geopolitically seems to be okay with helping their businesses thrive now.
$GME, $BB and $AMC were up yesterday and then Ryan Cohen bought 100k of $GME stock further expanding the rally. I see all of these going down and I'm thinking of buying some puts.
$AAPL had outages for the last 2 days. Cybersecurity stocks like $PANW, $CRWD and $ZS should be in your portfolio and I go over some price targets to buy at.
Watch the 2 year vs. 10 year bond rates for inversion. If this happens, this is the 3rd and final ring to close on what could be an indication that we will be going in to a recession.

Oil stocks are a buy again and here's why - Market update 3-22-22
Energy stocks are rising and oil is going up again. With Europe considering a ban on Russian oil (Germany seems to be the holdout), it's inevitable we see $150/barrel oil again soon. Buy $UCO for the pump up.
Other energy stocks to buy $PXD $COP $HAL $DVN
Mosaic is a fertilizer company and has had monster moves. $MOS has hit all time highs and the MacD just crossed up again.
$NKE beat earnings and is up 6% premarket. They didn't give guidance but the demand they said was high and e-commerce grew impressively. This one was a buy in the algo at $123 and is still moving well.
$ADBE is an earnings play - they release today after the bell. The PE is still high and all trends are moving negative but expectations are low. This could surprise, but I'm not taking the gamble personally.
$BABA is buying back $25 billion of stock. This is huge - it's popping up 10% pre market. If you're looking for growth and not getting it out of the American FANG stocks, Chinese stocks like BABA could be an opportunity if you're willing to take on geopolitical risks of the Chinese government.
$UPST - I like this one, but Wall Street main stay folk do not. I'll post a chart and you can see it.
$MULN - if you trade it then kudos - if you own it - you should read up on the CEO compensation. He's been paid $325 million over 2 years for a company that is not making money and very well may run out of funding in a few months.

Have we hit a bottom in the market? Market update 3-21-22
Goldman Sachs says there are 5 reasons they think we bottomed. Also, $MULN is the hype trade of the last 2 weeks. Oil is going up again. Rumors of the EU shutting off Russian oil and a Yemen attack on Saudi Arabia oil will mean oil prices will continue to rise back to early March levels.
$ZIM - today's the ex dividend date. You can also buy $DAC for exposure but both have run quite a bit. May not be worth chasing.
Berkshire buying Allegheny Insurance ($Y) - up huge in premarket
$MPC - Marathon Petroleum - could move to $85
Jim Chanos reveled his biggest short position now is $COIN on CNBC on Friday.
$MRNA is running with China lockdowns and Shanghai Disneyland is shut down until further notice. $DIS also had a story about the CEO rift on CNBC.

What stock just skyrocketed and why? - Market update 3-18-22
While recording this I saw $PIK move from $4 to $6. They announced a partnership with Disney, but I still don't think it's a buy - but it could be a trade. I also go over why $MULN is a trade - not an investment. I also wonder why anyone would go in to $GME (Gamestop).
Some stocks you should buy are:
$OIH - oil ETF - interesting setup.
$UVXY or $VXX I think today with afternoon selling you could see some big moves.
$FDX - earnings came out and the shipments were down - could this be the start of Amazon moving in to this business?
$ABBV - great stock for the growth and dividend.
11 high dividends from Cramer's show last night. #1 in my mind was $DVN - still an amazing priced stock.
$AVGO - Ex dividend is coming up. It's consolidating.
$ZIM - probably over valued now - Buy $DAC since they have exposure to $ZIM and they will get the cash. May mean they up their own dividend next quarter.
Members of Congress are trading $OXY, CVX and $CRWD - focusing on energy and cybersecurity.
Top inside by was from $COTY - CEO made her first buy - 4th large inside buy this year.
Biden's talk with XI of China.
$MRNA - more boosters - big moves.
Best financial opportunities - $BAC and $WFC

Rate Hikes - Good or Bad for your portfolio? - Market update 3-17-22
Yesterday Jay Powell spoke very hawkishly about things. He still believes inflation is not built in to the economy and the market went way up. Today we'll most likely have a hang over. Powell said there will be 7 rate hikes this year, but they can change that plan. The Fed laying that out helped the market understand things.
WIth that, oil today is up over $100 again. $UCO is up, but personally I'm not chasing it. The governments of the world have no interest in oil being that high. $SCO may still be the play when oil shoots up because it will come down. Some other energy plays like $DVN or $OXY should be very good options with them having lower oil prices priced in to the stocks.
$AXP - shot up yesterday. This one is a great re open play
$TQQQ - Triple levered QQQ ETF. This is a great one on days when the Nasdaq flies like yesterday.
$DAC - wow - another 5% yesterday - great call!
$MULN - broke up above $2/share. IMO this one is all hype, but a great trade.
$BOIL - up 5% with Nat Gas being up. $KOLD is the opposite.

What will the Fed and Jerome Powell do to the market today? 3-16-22 Market update
Jerome Powell has the attention of the markets today. The Fed has been behind the curve to their own admission and today is the day they start to raise rates which the market has been fully aware of. I do expect some movement in volatility around 2pm when he starts to speak.
Some of the stocks that I think are good opportunities:
$DAC - super strong run up but you are hitting up against 52 week highs. There's some underground chatter on this one though. Good chatter.
$ZIM - $17 dividend coming with a date of 3/22
$PANW $CRWD $ZS - These are holdings I'm in or getting in to. Cybersecurity is key going forward.
$MRNA - Get it when it goes down to $140 again because we will have more Covid boosters and variants.
$ORCL - this stock was an earnings play and I like it going to $90 from here.
$TSLA - can we all agree that Elona (check twitter for that name) is awesome? The stock is developing a trading range between $750 - $1k
$GOOGL and $MSFT are Leon Cooperman favs.
$CI is one he's getting in to - I like $UNH
Chinese stocks like $BABA are just traps. Do not own - but you can trade them - just be careful as overnight they can lose 25% (kind of like crypto).

What happened with oil and energy? Market update 3-15-22
$UCO has crashed and $SCO has been the play and will continue to be the play until oil gets to $80/barrel for $WTI.
Today I look at $MULN, $TSLA, $CRWD, $AMD and other stocks in a short episode about how to play.
With the Fed meeting today, play $UVXY. The Fed is no longer supporting this market with purchases so as they unwind, get quality companies like the chips, cybersecurity companies and even these energy companies. $DVN is almost under $50 again. That's a great buy in on that one.

Are we headed for a recession? Market update 3-14-22
I'm going to post quite a few charts on Twitter to look at, but in the podcast I go over the 3 things that precede a recession. I also discuss quite a few stocks in particular like:
UCO/SCO - which one should you play for oil?
$AAPL - Apple's chart is ugly. Still not done dropping.
$ZIM - ex dividend date on 3/22 ($17 per share dividend)
$QCOM - Jim Cramer's most recent buy - this has a gap to fill down.
$BAC - I said buy under $40 - it's on it's way back up.
$MRNA - China has a covid shutdown. It's coming back along with talks of boosters. This will hype up.
$CLF - I bought and sold - should have held on. Commodities like this are on fire.
$FDX - earnings on Thursday. If they site gas prices as a concern in forward earnings - look out below.
Chinese tech stocks - stay away. They are falling again

Tesla - Buy the stock or the car? Market Update 3-11-22
I go on a bit of a rant this morning about the billybobs on Twitter saying I should be upset at the time spent supercharging - when in reality - I'm not! If I listened to them, I would not have bought the car (which autopilot is far and above the greatest thing ever) and would have never bought the stock (which has made quite a few Teslanairres - IE people who invested who are now multi millionaires). So the moral is - buy stock in what you love because others will love it too.
Quite a few stocks I go over today and futures are up since Putin announced there may be movement in peace talks.
$MRNA - still love this one anytime below $130
$ORCL - didn't see the earnings pop, but still good opportunity
$DOCU - I was wrong about potential earnings - but market didn't like their forecast. Any stock not making money is going to get killed in this market.
$RIVN - it's going to be a while until they are the next Tesla and the valuation is just nuts. Supply chain issues are killing them.
Nickel is killing all EV's. Tesla had to raise their prices based on the commodity cost.
$CRWD - killed earnings - I was right - hopefully you bought in the $150's where it dipped down to on days leading up.
$SCO - I think this is the play for the next few days, but I would not hold any of these over the weekend. Oil stocks are all down today because of their run up and people taking profits before Russia actually backs down.
$CLR - $20 million buy in from a Director of the company. The stock is up 33% YTD in a down market and this indicates more confidence from a Director. Could indicate a much higher leg up.
$V - under $200 - buy it
$AXP - good opportunity along with $MA
Chinese stocks - DO NOT BUY THE DIP. They are valueless.
$ZIM - get that dividend before the Ex date. This one is a great opportunity like $GOGL was.

Bear trap market - buy oil stocks today while they are down - 3-9-22 Market update
I think we're in a bear market trap with stocks going up today. Dan Nathan said yesterday - there are very smart people saying we are going down - listen to them.
$ZIM - a shipping company just announced. Huge dividend and just like $GOGL, the chart looks good and buying this for the ex dividend may be a very good play.
$CRWD - reports after the bell. I think this poses a very good opportunity today. I'm holding at $180 so I'm hoping to see a pop. I never thought cybersecurity would be hurt when it's needed more than ever.
UCO is trading way down in the $170 range and SCO is up. I would expect SCO to be up even more today as oil stocks are taking a day off with big moves down today. With China saying they are in an energy crisis, they may go to Russia, but they will ask for a significant discount so who knows what will happen.
