How I use these sliders in a 52 week range. I have these in Fidelity and this screen shot is from Seeking Alpha.  If a stock is close to the 52 week high - it’s a red flag that trimming it or selling on weakness would be smart. Here are 2 rules that I have at 52 week highs: In a tax advantaged plan, I’ll trim at least some if it’s got some confirmation and closes at a 52 week high. If it loses confirmation, I’ll sell even more. If it creates a tax event, then I’ve got to re-evaluate and do a short tax calculation. I will take some profits on this even if a tax event is created. If it’s a stock I want to continue to hold, I’ll need to make a note to rebuy it and I can do that in Seeking Alpha with a price alert or Trendspider with an algorithm alert. Just make sure there’s an alert so you can don’t miss a 10% run up or forget to rebuy it.
