Paul intends to remind the people of god to remain in the will of God and just trust that he is the thing we need. There is safety, prevision, and guidance toward the things of God. We believe that in doing this the God of peace himself can sanctify you through and through!

The struggles in our life shouldn't drive the train, but they also shouldn't be treated like they don't exist.  How do we steward the hardships we go through? Are they pointing us towards god, or are they moving us away from the things of God?

Are we receiving the word of God as it actually is? Pure, sweet, good, powerful, and convicting. Our prayer is that we would not become so familiar with God's words that we respond like these are just words. The word of God works in us in a very clear, evident, and imitating-inducing way, only if we let it. But this type of change brings about suffering. We will be hated and excluded by people because we are moved by the gospel. Our sufferings are a reminder that we are not of this world, just living in it!
