Doubt, Fear, Anxiety

Have you ever had doubt? Have you ever had extreme fear? Or have you ever had anxiety? Well, you are not alone. These things are growing to be ever more common is this day and age.   3 Mormons, along with Rosemary Card, talk about doubt, fear, and anxiety. Watch along and share your thoughts.   Rosemary Card is the founder and creator of Q.Noor temple dresses. She is devote in her beliefs that modesty never needs to be compromised in life.   When sixteen-year-old Rosemary Card left Salt Lake to become a model, she had no idea what awaited her in New York City. As her career took her around the globe over the next two years, Rosie experienced the highs and lows of the fashion industry and learned firsthand the strength found in being true to yourself, listening to guidance from the Spirit, and discovering confidence as a single LDS woman.   3 Mormons had the chance to talk to Rosemary all about her life events and how it led her to where she is now. Throughout her time in the modeling world, Rosemary battled with self image confidence. She explains that to some, the modeling world is looked as all glamour and fame, but on the inside it can be cold and unforgiving. Rosemary explains how her beliefs helped her be strong to know who she really is.   Make sure you check out Rosemary's book here: https://qnoor.com/products/model-mormon Check out her site here: https://qnoor.com/

What is a Patriarchal Blessing?

In this episode, we had the great privilege of interviewing Patriarch Mourik, an ordained Patriarch in the LDS Church! Patriarchs are ordained to give patriarchal blessings to the people in their region. Brother Mourik has been a patriarch for a very long time and has absolutely loved the spiritual connection he feels giving blessings from God to His children.   Patriarch Mourik is a convert to the church, which he talks about in this video. He's had remarkable experiences that have helped him grow in the Church.   In the Mormon Church, we believe that through the priesthood authority (the power of God on the earth to do His work) we can bless people. While blessings are given frequently, patriarchal blessings are typically given by someone who is ordained as a Patriarch and who has the power to declare lineage and give guidance for the lives of those receiving the blessing.

Should I Take the SACRAMENT??

Before filming this episode for Saints Unscripted (formerly known as 3 Mormons), we were sure it would only be like 5 minutes long since we were positive we agreed on every misconception about taking the Sacrament in the Church of Jesus Christ. But boy were we wrong!   In this episode, David, Justin, and Kwaku address a few different questions or misconceptions about the Sacrament. A few of the questions include:   --If I didn’t hear the prayer, can/should I still take the sacrament?   --If I go to more than one ward in a day, should I take the Sacrament in both wards?   --I don’t feel worthy to take the sacrament but I know it will help me be clean. Should I take it?   --Do I need to take the Sacrament with my right hand?   --Should children be encouraged to take the Sacrament?   --Do I sustain people in a Sacrament meeting in a ward that isn’t mine?

SURVIVING as a Recent Convert

Being a recent convert in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon Church) isn't easy. Many people struggling with fitting in, feeling comfortable, and even question why they joined in the first place.   Well friends, we're here to chat about your conversion. Kwaku first mentions that it's likely especially difficult for people who have never been religious in their life and then join Mormonism since they're suddenly expected to attend regularly, participate in different function, contribute time and talents, etc. It's a big change from being non-religious to joining a religion with so many expectations.  But in the end, Kwaku and David talk about the importance of joining for the right reasons and then remembering why you joined in the first place. Don't think so much about the culture of the Church, the incorrect doctrines some people might say, etc. Think about the spirit you felt when you joined. Keep reading the Book of Mormon and saying your prayers. It'll work out.

Can Members of the Church Disagree?

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (otherwise known as LDS or Mormon) sometimes disagree with one another. And not only about politics. Oftentimes, there is a disagreement in how scripture is interpreted or even how some doctrine is translated. Does that mean that one member is right and the other is wrong? Not always.   Kwaku mentions that scriptures and other doctrines might mean something different to you as time goes on. You might glean different bits of information from the same scripture as you go throughout your life. And that's okay.   Mimi asks if it's okay to disagree with the prophet, among questioning other things. David responds that as long as there is a basic belief of fundamental doctrine, we can seek revelation from God to know how to interpret what the prophet says and how it can apply to us and help us to grow.

How was POLYGAMY once ordained of God, but not anymore?

In today's episode we talk about polygamy with Brian Hales. Brian is an author of seven books about Mormon polygamy. We tried to answer as many of your questions as possible, so here are some of the questions that will be answered in the podcast.    What was the reason for polygamy between 1840 and 1890? Were there more women than men at the time? Did Joseph use his role and status to pressure women into polygamous relationships? Why did Joseph marry sisters or women who already had husbands? Did Joseph marry a 14 year old? Who was Fanny Alger? Why did Joseph keep some of the marriages from his first wife, Emma? Did Joseph write love letters to any other women other than Emma? Were there any children that came from Joseph's other wives? How many of the wives lived with Joseph? Will there be polygamy in heaven? How should we respond to those who attack the church because of polygamy?
