The Best of "The MindSide Podcast"
In this week's episode of "The MindSide Podcast" Dr. Bhrett McCabe takes a look back at three of the best podcasts over the last few years. We decided to give you a "Best Of" because next week we're launching a whole new podcast called "Exploring the MindSide". We think you're going to like it. Picking the best three was tough, but this is what we narrowed it down to. First up is Jon Gordon. Jon is a best-selling author and motivational speaker. He loves sharing the value of positivity and the impact that it can have on your life. After Jon we have Brandon Sneed. Brandon is a writer for Bleacher Report as well as CNN. He's also a published author with his book 'Head in the Game'. He gives some of his insights on our minds and the effects that our daily lives can have on the way we think. After Brandon we have the guys from Mindpump. Sal Di Stefano, Adam Schafer, and Justin Andrews have over 40 years of combined experience in different areas of the fitness world. Their goal is to showcase great people doing great things in the fitness industry. This podcast is edgy and it does have a little foul language. That makes it raw. We hope you enjoy it. Those are just some of the guests we've had on the MindSide podcast over the last few years. We hope you enjoyed listening to this "best of" edition. Don't forget, next week, the new revamped version of the Mindside podcast will debut. We think you're gonna like it. Thanks for listening. Mastering Personal Nutrition: Dr. Layne Norton
Dr. Bhrett McCabe talks with Dr. Layne Norton about making lifestyle changes in 2018. Dr. Norton is a bodybuilder and has a PhD in Nutritional Sciences. Dr. Norton cautions not to rely on motivation to get fit. Motivation is a poor way to do anything. Forming good habits can be much more powerful because motivation won't be there all the time. Don't look at a diet as punishment. Look at it as a commitment you're making to get to the next level. You're not going to stumble into your goals. You have to make them a priority and if you do you will find a way to make it happen. We hope you enjoy this week's episode as much as we did recording it. Are you on the Right Track as a Leader? with Justin Hill, McNeese State Head Baseball Coach
You Can't Rush Growth What does it take to build a good organization? Coach Hill says the first step is to get the opportunity. After that you have to have a vision. You must have a good direction and know what you're trying to build. Once you've figured that out you have to convey that message to your team members. Anything Worthwhile is Going to Have Adversity The doubt in your head never leaves. You have to tell that voice to shut up. You have to deal with it all the time. People that say they don't doubt, I think they're lying. It's not necessarily the climb to the top, it's staying at the top. The Only Thing You Have on Them is a Title Just because you're a leader you are just as human as your team members. You must have empathy for them but your job is not to make them happy. Your job is to make the best team possible. We hope you enjoy this week's episode as much as we did recording it. Thank you to Coach Hill, McNeese State Baseball and https://www.healthiq.com for making it all possible. Stop Living a Lie with Dr. Bhrett McCabe
Dr. Bhrett McCabe, clinical psychologist and founder of The MindSide Sports & Performance Psychology focuses on the transition into the new year and what YOU need to do to move forward and "STOP LIVING A LIE." "You're so stuck in the gutter, you've made friends with the gutter rats" It's a new year, so it's time for a new you. Right? The reason you want to change in 2018 is that you're focusing on the wrong thing. It sounds harsh and it is, but you must face the reality that you're living a lie. You're setting yourself up to unrealistic expectations. If you focus on the wrong things they can become all consuming. We've all been there. Listen to the podcast and hear Dr. Bhrett McCabe tell you about one experience in college that changed his life. "Don't let good enough be your mantra" It will take everything you've got to find something that fulfills you. You must "find what feeds you." The reason you want to change in the new year is that you're focusing on the wrong thing. The majority of people that come to see me don't feel like they're living up to their potential and it bleeds over to every facet of their life. Do you know why you're not living your calling? Because you haven't paid attention to it. You must "learn to listen." "I don't want you to struggle but I want you to pay attention to the struggles" If we don't learn our lessons in life we are doomed to repeat them. If you're unhappy in your life then you need to figure out why. Do not blame other people. Sometimes it's so simple you're scared to do it. Your challenge is to start living your truth, but first you must start believing in yourself. We hope you enjoy this podcast episode as much as we've enjoyed recording it.
