In Conversation with Dan Burke (Illusion of Safety)
Illusion of Safety is one of the longest running projects in the industrial noise underground, and Dan Burke was cool enough to sit down with us and go over his entire history. From seeing the final Throbbing Gristle show in San Francisco, to creating the IOS world with all its collaborators, Dan has stories and insight for days. It’s another mandatory history lesson on Noisextra.
For the ExtraNOISEXTRA segment on the patreon, Dan talks about taking music lessons and how it’s inspired his current approach to IOS and all his sound work. This segment is in the middle of the episode on the patreon feed.

In Conversation with James P. Keeler (Wilt)
We had a great discussion with James Keeler of Wilt, celebrating his 25 years in the underground. James goes into his early days in rural Illinois, the beginnings of Wilt, putting together the classic “Radio 1940,” and plenty more. We were excited to hear about his themes, use of instruments and non instruments, and how it’s translated to the live setting. Turn on your short wave radio and tune in.|
For the ExtraNoisextra segment on the Patreon, we get into entropy, saving sounds, losing sounds, as well as playing the incredible pre-show for God Blast America. This 20 minute segment is in the middle of the episode on the patreon feed.

In Conversation with Drew McDowall (part 1)
UK industrial history class is in session. Drew McDowall sat down with us for a long candid discussion covering his entire history. For this first of two episodes, Drew tells us about his beginnings in the 70s to falling in with Psychic TV and eventually Coil. It’s an incredible first hand account of the early industrial days. For the ExtraNoisextra, we have 2 segments on the patreon. Drew talks about a lost album of the Poems, his first band with Rose. In Conversation with Kristian Olsson (part 1)
It was a honor to speak with Kristian Olsson to have a very deep discussion on not only his history, but his thoughts and philosophy on the underground. Our talk demanded it to be a two-parter, so for this first part, we go over Kristian’s early days, starting Survival Unit, connecting and working with Blood ov Thee Christ, and the newly announced Survival Unit/Grey Wolves collaboration tape. In next week’s episode, we get into Alfarmania and so much more. These episodes are highly important history lessons and ones that are not to be missed.
For the ExtraNoisextra segment on our patreon, Kristian talks about Kommando RJF and the importance of Roger Karmanik. This 20 minute segment immediately follows the Blood ov Thee Christ story on the patreon feed.

Studio Reorganization
Mike and Tara desperately needed to re-organize their studio, so why not make an episode out of it? Mike and Tara walk Greh thru the process, how bad Mike is at storing cables, all the unnecessary stuff that has been kept and so much more. Let this be an inspiration to get your studio in gear for a noise summer.
For the ExtraNoisextra segment, instead of extra audio, we made a video of the before, middle and after of the reorganization day. Head to the patreon to see what the Connellys accomplished.

Joachim has had boots on the ground since he was 13 years old with no end in sight. Ideal celebrates its 25th year this year, so it was a perfect time to get into Joachim’s history.
For the extra-long ExtraNoisextra segment on the patreon, Greh and Joachim go deeper into Börft and some of the artists he worked with early on.
