In Conversation with En Nihil
Adam Fritz, the man behind En Nihil, joins us for a rare talk about his history in the noise underground. We get into how he connected with Ron Lessard, Marco Corbelli, and more. En Nihil is currently in its 3rd era, and Adam gives us insight to all of his phases. Additionally, in the extra segment we get to the bottom of what the heck Adam did to Erik Hoffman for the cover of “Assertive Order of Obedience.”

Mental Destruction – When Madness Strikes
Mental Destruction bring a truly unique take on industrial with “When Madness Strikes.” Standing apart from their peers, Mental Destruction was an orthodox Christian industrial band from Sweden. While they were on Cold Meat Industry and label mates with the likes of MZ.412, Mortiis and more, Mental Destruction confront listeners in a different way, both sonically and ideologically. Light the way or burn alone in hell.

Teatro Satanico – Mephitic Coitus
Satanic sexual madness cuts deep as we stab our ceremonial knives into Teatro Satanico “Mephitic Coitus” from 1994. Originally released on Hex Minora’s BV Tapes label and later re-released on Chondritic Sound, this cassette is for all the dirty rotten scoundrels. Give in to your secret impulses, give in to Teatro Satanico.

Mortal Vision – Nacht Musik
Felt like a good time to dig into a G.R.O.S.S tape, so Greh suggested Mortal Vision “Nacht Musik.” An early solo project of Hiroshi Hasegawa, Mortal Vision provides a tape full of night noise atmosphere all the way from 1992. Travel through a landscape within a forgotten time of battered strings run through primitive electronics. A great early G.R.O.S.S. tape for your midnight listening.

In Conversation with Jacob Kirkegaard
Jacob Kirkegaard joins us for a highly interesting discussion on birth, death and what goes on in between. Jacob’s recordings of the death process “Opus Mors,” is a new level for sound capture and we get into the thought and process behind this work. We also talk about his recordings in Chernobyl, waste management facilities, glaciers, geysers and much more. We can’t thank Jacob enough for taking time out of his trip to have this conversation.

Government Alpha – Erratic
Pure Japanese harsh noise was called for this week, so what better cassette to dig into than Government Alpha “Erratic”? Released in 1996 on his own Xerxes label, this tape sets the tone for what was to come for Government Alpha. At times unsettling, at other times brutal, and at all times astonishing, “Erratic” is a high mark for 90s noise. Fall into the vortex with Government Alpha.

NSI “M Plays Havoc” (with guest Shane English)
Shane English returns and brought with him possibly the most obscure album we’ve covered thus far — NSI “M Plays Havoc.” A huge mystery from 1980s France, this self released slice of industrial ambience is shrouded in fog. A friend of Shane’s was able to track down a member of NSI and supplied us with some info and history behind this hidden project.
