Kindled Podcast | Truth and Grace, Boldly
Kindled Podcast exists to speak truth and grace boldly to cultural, theological and political issues from a Biblical worldview. Speaking the truth in love with boldness, we will grow to become the mature body of Christ.
Love for God is kindled in our hearts as we are transformed by His power. May these conversations spur us on to love and good works so those near us and far would know that our Lord God is King. "They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony." Revelation 12:11

All About Biblical Counseling: The Importance of Worldview & Authority | Ursla McCarthy | Ep. 206
What is Biblical Counseling? What’s the difference between that and secular or even christian counseling? Who should govern what counselors can and cannot say in the counseling room? Why “biblical counseling” when there’s a whole field of licensed professional counselors who seemingly want to help people?
What standard do we use for helping people seek and find peace?
All this and more in my conversation with Ursla McCarthy, an ACBC certified counselor who attends the same church as I do. Ursla has a Masters in Biblical Counseling and a Bachelors degree in Psychology. She changed directions with her psychology degree after beginning to practice counseling in the prison system and realizing it was not effective for helping people truly change.

Conservatives Boycott Target: Examining Both Sides | Haley Williams
As conservatives prepare to go Target-free for June, it begs the question: how long will this go on? How long can it? Are people being inconsistent by refusing to shop at Target but continuing to shop at Walmart or Amazon? Or can we simply do the best we can with what we have to steward our money and resources?
I see both sides of the argument and have been/am on both sides, so I want to examine both sides of the discussion and see how we can all avoid error on both extremes of leaning too hard into "boycott or you're in sin" or "we don't have to do anything different ever" regardless of how corporations behave.
I think this is a valuable and important conversation for Christians to have, and it surely isn't the last time a corporation will serve a demonic agenda in this ever-present spiritual battle that wages on.

Talking to Your Kids about Pride Month + Q&A | Haley Williams
With Pride Month right around the corner, it's important for Christian parents to be prepared to engage with their kids on this topic.
Many parents avoid this conversation altogether or hope their kids won't notice - but is that really the approach we should take as we equip our children to live as salt and light in Babylon? They need more than our hopes that they will go one more year without asking hard questions about all the rainbows they are seeing.
In this episode, I share the structure for the conversation and break it down in a way that will help you not dread this conversation with your kids, and dare I say even enjoy it as you get to share the beauty of God's design and truth with them.
I break this down for ages 3-18 and will share tips that help you adapt it to your children.
KEY SCRIPTURES
Genesis 1:27 tells us God made humans male and female.
Prov. 14:12 tells us that a way seems right to man but the end is death.
Romans 1:18-38 gives a vivid picture of humankind refusing to acknowledge God and giving him proper glory.
Throughout the Old Testament in places like Leviticus 18, Leviticus 20, Genesis, and later on in Judges, but also in the New Testament in Romans 1, 1 Corinthians 6, and 1 Timothy 1, it is made very clear that homosexual activity is sinful.
In 1 Corinthians 6 and 1 Timothy 1, Paul lists homosexual activity along with numerous other sins: revelry, drunkenness, and all sorts of other sins, some of which are minor, some major; some less significant, some more significant; some even heinous sins. In Romans 1, however, Paul identifies homosexual sin as a more heinous sin, being that it is contrary to nature.

Yes, Women Should Teach Other Women Theology | Haley & Joey Williams | Ep. 202
A big conversation has exploded online around the question of, "Should women teach theology to other women?"
Titus 2:3-5 is interpreted to mean women should ONLY teach women the list of items in those verses (loving husbands, raising children, etc.).
Join my husband and I as we discuss what scripture says and means by what it says. We'll look at some of the arguments for and against and examine the risks of this thinking as well as the goodness of God's design for the family led by male headship.

From the Occult, Witchcraft & Freemason Lodge Ritual Magic to Christ | Jac Marino Chen | Ep. 199
From the occult into Christianity - Jac Marino Chen shares her testimony of how Jesus saved her from an occult order called The Golden Dawn into a relationship with Him. After a life marred by sexual abuse, addiction to psychadelic drugs and alcohol, Jac found herself unable to wake herself up from the nightmare that had become her life. She went deeper into the new age and ended up in the occult, studying ancient mysticism, egyptian magic and interacting with demonic entities in the spirit realm. Though she followed this path and was initiated into a magical occult order that practiced sorcery in a freemason lodge, God had other plans for how her life would turn out.
