Feelings can be complicated, and often we as adults have a harder time identifying what we're feeling than our kids do.  Christi and I chat about how we can provide our children with emotional safety, which the research says is the most important element for children to develop emotionally in a healthy environment.  Emotional safety is not woo-woo or abstract. It simply means that your emotions are allowed and you are safe to bring them to someone, but they don't get to be the boss of you.

Boldness in our faith is not reserved for the super-spiritual OR the uber-secular. Today I'm chatting with Samantha Royer, founder of She is Bold, about how she is learning that bold obedience is possible regardless of the circumstances or environment we find ourselves in. Samantha left a lucrative career in marketing to follow as assignment God placed in her heart, and she's letting us in behind the scenes on just how that's looked playing out in real life.

Our world is filled with fake facades, form the unrealistic filters on social media to the "holier than thou" personas seen in certain hypocritical believers. To combat the fake trends, a new trend has emerged--one that fights the facade with transparency and vulnerability. But is the "god" of brokenness, realness and honesty left us with a glorification of "Messy Christianity?" Are we elevating brokenness, focusing on self obsession rather than being changed? Rather than being truly transformed?

The world promises recognition and promotion if we "hustle harder," but what has that mantra actually done for us? If our relationships are being sacrificed on the altar of our passions, businesses, and ministries—there has to be a healthier way.
