This week, Canada’s defence chief said that protecting the country’s north is a key priority tied to economic and security interests, as Moscow moves to reoccupy Cold War military bases in nearby Arctic regions.

Russian prosecutors threatened several major companies with arrests and asset seizures in response to Western sanctions. Signs of a COVID outbreak across number of cities in China have sent tens of millions of people into lockdown and caused a major Apple supplier to halt operations in the southmost city of Shenzhen, which analysts believe may worsen inflation. As gas prices reach unprecedented heights, so has the demand for electric cars in Canada, a recent survey found that 62% of dealerships’ EV wait times exceed 3 months.
