Ken Bethea is a lead guitar player. Not just for some local band... he's the lead guitar player for the Old 97's! He's also an East Dallas resident. Old 97's is an American rock band from Dallas, Texas. Formed in 1992, they have since released twelve studio albums. They were pioneers of the alt-country movement during the mid-to-late 1990s, then they developed more of a power pop style in the 2000s. Ken tells their story...and a little about his love of board games!Check out their music! Want to know more about them? The Exchange Club of East Dallas was charted August 14, 1948. At that time the first members and every member after accepted the Covenant of Service to ideals and goals of Exchange, and pledged to “serve in unity with those seeking better conditions, better understanding, and greater opportunities for all.” Further, they accepted as a motto: “Unity for Service.” The club has followed this pledge and has. made a difference in many ways to the individuals in need that live in our community.Here is President, Matt Wood to tell us all about the Exchange Club. On today's Show, CEO Nicole Gann talks about Fowler Communities today. In 2012, Gann joined the team at Fowler, where she has enjoyed working with youths as well as seniors and quickly noticed similarities between the two at-risk populations. She served as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer prior to becoming Chief Executive Officer in 2018. In this role, she is the visionary and strategist for the organization utilizing both her analytical and creative abilities. Gann’s expertise lies in her ability to not only manage numbers and strategy but also in her ability to develop ways to help others thrive.For Gann, the mission of Juliette Fowler Communities is embedded in her heart. She can relate to Juliette Fowler’s selflessness of caring and capacity to move through grief. Fowler lost her husband and two small children but still found purpose. In the late 1880’s, Juliette Peak Fowler dreamed of a community of care for widows and orphaned children. She traveled throughout the country researching social service agencies and learning their methods, but died before launching her dream.
