James Doty, MD is a Tulane-trained neurosurgeon, Stanford professor, and New York Times bestselling author of Mind Magic and Into the Magic Shop. He is the founder and director of the Center for Compassion and Altruism Research and Education (CCARE) at Stanford, of which His Holiness the Dalai Lama is the founding benefactor.
