Skye Cowie is a 21-year-old college student and professional athlete from Raleigh, North Carolina. Ms. Cowie’s Lyme disease symptoms began shortly after she was bitten by a tick at the age of 12.  At the time of her tick bite, Ms. Cowie played high level team soccer. Unfortunately, Ms. Cowie’s Lyme disease symptoms progressed rapidly rendering her incapable of participating in scheduled team practices or games.
