Welcome to the date your wife podcast – this one is a spicy one. We have been married for over 20 years, have five kids, and have built multiple eight-figure businesses together. It has definitely not been easy. We almost called it quits so many times, but now we are very committed, and life is successful and abundant, but it didn’t come without hard work and commitment. One of the things we have committed to is date night and recently, therapy every week. It’s crazy to me to think that so many couples don’t prioritize date night. They’ll put their money into so many things, except for a babysitter to spend time and reconnect with their spouse. You and I have been committed to date nights for years and recently have decided to commit to weekly therapy. I used to think that this meant I was broken or that something was wrong, and now I realize how much time and attention I put into work things. Why wouldn’t I put this into my marriage? So now, counseling has turned into a working hour inside of my marriage. It’s been a game-changer. Communication is key to a healthy relationship. Catch a new episode every Monday! I was raised in a Mormon culture ( no longer practice inside of this religion ) where there was a lot of guilt and shame around sex, even within the beginning of my marriage, I was guilty of using sex as a bargaining tool. This just left both of us feeling unheard, unseen, and resentful. and ultimately, I felt hostage in my relationship at this time. We also talk about life and business, and sometimes when you hide in the work, you miss opportunities that God can open up for you because you're too busy to see them.
