The Uvalde Shooting Leads to Online Trans Hate
Hours after the tragic Uvalde Shooting, dangerous rumors began to circulate online that the shooter, Salvador Ramos, was transgender. These falsehoods led to online harassment of trans people and to an assault on a trans teen in Texas. But these acts of virtual and physical hate violence don’t happen in a vacuum. There is an active and vibrant ecosystem on the Internet that is designed to weaponize beliefs about our community, and exploit actual tragedies, in order to create support for pushing trans people out of public life entirely. We wanted to understand this underreported part of the Anti-Trans Hate-Machine, its dark, unseen underbelly. Imara Jones sits down with Sydney Bauer to unpack it all. Hosted on Acast. Summer of Trans Sex
There are few things more policed in life than sex and sexuality. For lots of trans folks, learning to embrace themselves as sexual beings is a journey all its own. But it can also be healing and affirming. In this pursuit of pleasure and liberation, many trans folks embrace kink, and that’s something we wanted to explore on the show this week. So we invited BDSM educator and sex worker advocate Ze R to talk about kink, gender, and what it looks like to embrace your kinky side as a trans person.Follow TransLash Media @translashmedia on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.Follow Imara Jones on Twitter (@ImaraJones) and Instagram (@Imara_jones_)Follow our guests on social media!Cute Little F*uckers: cutelittlefkers (Instagram), Ze R: @ze.royale (Instagram)TransLash Podcast is produced by Translash Media.Translash Team: Imara Jones, Oliver-Ash Kleine, Callie Wright. Trans Mother's Day
The word “mother” hits differently for trans folks. Traditional notions of motherhood are very in racialized and heterosexual norms. But what does motherhood look like when you’re trans and what does being mothered look like when you’re trans? To explore these questions and more, we spoke to the woman GQ magazine called a godmother of the Black Trans Lives Matter Movement, Ceyenne Doroshow. We also get some trans joy from from Ngozi Nnaji, the mother of trans track star and trailblazer Andraya Yearwood. You can connect with us on social media!Follow TransLash Media @translashmedia on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.Follow Imara Jones on Twitter (@ImaraJones) and Instagram (@Imara_jones_)Follow our guests on social media!Ceyenne Doroshow: @doroshow (Instagram)TransLash Podcast is produced by Translash Media. T4T: Trans Love
We’re coming up on Valentine’s Day. This can be a difficult time for trans people, because the love our culture celebrates on that day so rarely reflects us. So this week the TransLash Podcast invites two incredible guests to talk about the power and the freedom to be found in T4T (Trans For Trans) love, sex, and relationships.First Imara talks to artist, producer and trans woman Zackary Drucker. In 2016, she coauthored a book with her ex partner Rhys Ernst called Relationship. It’s a deeply intimate look at two trans lives undergoing radical change, and their relationship with each other in that moment. Then you'll hear from author and essayist Britni de la Cretaz. Britni wrote an essay for Catapult called “How Queer Sex Liberated Me” about their journey finding sexual freedom and fulfillment through sex with other trans people. You can connect with us on social media!Follow TransLash Media @translashmedia on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.Follow Imara Jones on Twitter (@ImaraJones) and Instagram (@Imara_jones_)Follow our guests on social media!Zackary Drucker: @zackarydrucker (Twitter) @zackarydrucker (Instagram)Britni de la Cretaz: @britnidlc (Twitter) @britnidlc (Instagram)Queerkwe Designs StoreQueerkwe Designs InstagramTransLash Podcast is produced by Translash Media.
