Cybersecurity for Trans People
Online harassment against trans people is becoming increasingly violent and sophisticated. In the wake of the stalking and doxxing of streamer Clara Santorini, aka Keffals, Imara traces the emergence of these kinds of coordinated attacks, and asks what we can do about it. As the United States struggles to contain the outbreak of Monkeypox, trans people are once again sidelined in our public health response. Amidst this sea of misinformation and erasure, Imara talks with two experts about the disease’s spread and its impacts on our community. Trans Mutual Aid
From the work of Marsha P. Johnson and Sylvia Rivera to the Covid-19 pandemic, mutual aid has long been key to trans survival. To find out what trans mutual aid looks like today, Imara speaks with organizers Asanni Armon and Tuck Woodstock. First, Asanni explains how party-based organization For the Gworls is disrupting conventional approaches to fundraising and aid distribution for Black trans people. They discuss how their approach to crowdsourcing and collaborating with traditional non-profits has changed over the years. Next, Imara talks with Tuck Woodstock about the Gender Reveal mutual aid and grant program.
