Ep 237 - How to run marathons with no training with Fin Hampton
Send us a textWe're told to prepare for a marathon you need at least 16 weeks of training. But what if someone showed up at your door and made your run a marathon right now? Would you? You could... but would you? Really? In this episode, Jody and David speak to Fin Hampton who's making a name for himself by doing exactly that - challenging people to run a marathon with him when he rocks up at their front door. It's an interesting thought- how much training do we *actually* need? - and the chaps take it to a ridiculous level. WARNING - do not listen to ANY of their training advice from this episode. Not that you would normally. But ESPECIALLY don't in this episode. Enjoy If you enjoyed this episode please SUBSCRIBE to get every episode delivered to you before everyone else. Ep 231 - James Willcox on running in 'difficult' countries
Send us a textSometimes running around your local park for a timed, weekly 5k just doesn't cut it. You want some more adventure, some more culture, something that completely changes the way you see the world. No, we're not talking Brighton Marathon... we're talking participating in races that take place in some unusual and largely unvisited ares of the world - or areas where you would NEVER think of travelling right now. Step in James Willcox, founder of Untamed Borders, a company that specialises in just that. When David ran the Afghanistan marathon, it was Untamed Borders who supported the race with their on-ground knowledge. In this episode, David speaks to James about organising and visiting places that are off-the-map to so many, the challenges and the benefits of seeing the world from a different perspective.
