Ep 242 - Pau Cappell on breaking 20 hours at UTMB

Send us a textWhen you go to your doctor with a serious knee and ligament injury sustained while playing your sport of choice, football, you'd expect their advice to be "rest up, relax and stay off it". What you wouldn't expect is to be told "try running on some mountainous trails and see how it goes..." But that's exactly what happened to Pau Cappell when his sporting career looking under jeopardy at a young age. Once he hit those trails the knee injury disappeared and his love of trails began.  And what a career he's had culminating most recently in his victory at the UTMB in 2019. While 2020 was somewhat disrupted, he attempted to break the UTMB record solo as part of a North Face attempt. In this episode, Jody and David speak to Pau about this attempt, his early running life and go into detail about his incredibly detailed race plans. ** Want 15% off your next food order ** This episode is sponsored by Food Hub, supporting independent local restaurants and takeaways. Ep 237 - How to run marathons with no training with Fin Hampton

Send us a textWe're told to prepare for a marathon you need at least 16 weeks of training. But what if someone showed up at your door and made your run a marathon right now? Would you? You could... but would you? Really? In this episode, Jody and David speak to Fin Hampton who's making a name for himself by doing exactly that - challenging people to run a marathon with him when he rocks up at their front door. It's an interesting thought-  how much training do we *actually* need? - and the chaps take it to a ridiculous level. WARNING - do not listen to ANY of their training advice from this episode. Not that you would normally. But ESPECIALLY don't in this episode. Enjoy If you enjoyed this episode please SUBSCRIBE to get every episode delivered to you before everyone else.
