Nick Roach - Former NFL linebacker on never wanting to play football, playoff football and living for Christ
Nick Roach is a former NFL linebacker who played eight seasons with the Bears and Raiders. In college, he was an Academic All-Big Ten and team co-MVP his senior year with Northwestern. After going undrafted in 2007, he signed with the Chargers, was cut and then signed with the Bears.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Nick Roach about never wanting to play in the NFL, finding Christ during his pro career, the NFL playoff atmosphere, giving his life to Jesus at a pro athlete conference and his transition away from football.

Kerry Carpenter - Detroit Tigers outfielder on his breakout 2023 season and finding freedom on the field
Kerry Carpenter is an outfielder and designated hitter with the Detroit Tigers. He was selected in the 19th round of the 2019 MLB Draft by Detroit and made his MLB debut on Aug. 10, 2022.
In 98 minor league games in 2022, he hit .313 with 30 home runs and was named Eastern League (Double-A) Player of the Month in May. A few months later, he was called up to the big-league club, and in 31 games with the Tigers he hit .252 with six home runs. In 2023 with the Tigers, he became a staple in the Detroit lineup, hitting .278 with 20 home runs in 118 games played.

William Gates - Hoop Dreams star on celebrating 30 year anniversary of acclaimed sports documentary
William Gates is a former college basketball player who was featured in the Oscar-nominated documentary “Hoop Dreams” back in October 1994.
Gates was a member of St. Joseph High School in Chicago, where he played on the varsity team all four years under legendary coach Gene Pingatore. After being highly recruited by many of the top colleges in the country, Gates chose to play for Marquette and appeared in 80 games during his career with the Golden Eagles.
A few years later, Gates entered Moody Bible Institute and began training to become a pastor. Today, he runs a Hoop Dreams clothing line and recently released his new book "Hoop Dreams Fifth Quarter" in October 2023.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone - Two-time Olympic Gold Medalist on preparing for Paris 2024, her new book "Far Beyond Gold"
Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist and world record-holding American sprinter and hurdler. In 2016, she made history at age 16 as the youngest US Olympian to compete in track and field since 1972.
In 2021 at the Tokyo Olympics, she cemented herself as a track superstar winning a gold medal in the 400-meter hurdles, breaking the world record with a 51.46 second time and winning a gold medal for the 4x400-meter relay.
Sydney is also an author and her first book, "FAR BEYOND GOLD" releases January 30, 2024.

Devon McDonald - Former Notre Dame linebacker on making disciples and serving with AIA
Devon McDonald is a former Notre Dame linebacker from Jamaica who played four seasons in the NFL with the Colts and Cardinals.
As a part of the Fighting Irish's national championship team in 1988, McDonald served as a team captain and was an Honorable Mention All-American in 1992 and was the Co-MVP of the 1993 Cotton Bowl.
Today on the podcast, we talk to Devon McDonald about his football journey, being baptized by a Pro Football Hall of Fame teammate, serving in ministry and the importance of mentorship and discipleship.

Gabe McGlothan - Grand Canyon University basketball player on baptism, the Bible and the Big Dance
Gabe McGlothan is a basketball player with Grand Canyon University. He played his high school basketball in Chandler, Arizona, winning a state championship in 2017. After a year of prep school in Putnam, CT, he signed on with Southeast Missouri State. After one season, he decided to transfer to Grand Canyon University.
In 2022-23 season, McGlothan was named All-WAC second team after averaging 12.8 pts and a team leading 7.6 rebounds in helping his team to the NCAA Tournament. In 2023-24, he once again leads his team in rebounding and in a win over No. 25 SDSU on December 5, 2023, Gabe had 15 points and 13 rebounds in helping the Lopes to their first ever victory over a ranked opponent.

Ronald Olivier on his 27 summers in prison and his journey to freedom, forgiveness and redemption
Ronald Olivier spent 27 summers in the notorious Louisiana State Penitentiary. In 2018, God transformed Ronald's life and he was miraculously released from jail. Since then, he has been a chaplain, pastor and now author.
His new book "27 SUMMERS" is released in November 2023.
Today on the podcast, Ronald shares how Christ grabbed a hold of his life in prison, sharing the Gospel with everyone he meets, his relationship with the NFL's Tony Dungy and Sam Acho and the importance of forgiveness.

Brett Kern - Former NFL punter on faith, fake punts and retiring from football
Brett Kern is a former NFL punter who played 16 seasons with the Broncos, Titans and Eagles. The three-time Pro Bowler is Tennessee's franchise leader in every punting category and was named First-team All-Pro in 2019.
In 2022, Kern was released by the Titans and signed by the Eagles, where he helped Philadelphia to an NFC title and a berth in Super Bowl LVII. In June of 2023, Brett Kern retire from the NFL.
